Chris Paul injury: Clippers’ star will sit for team’s next two games

Paul has already missed four games with a knee injury and there’s no timetable as to his return.

After Chris Paul re-aggravated his bruised right kneecap when he returned to action last week, the Clippers are being extremely cautious with their star point guard.

Vinny Del Negro didn't sound too optimistic about Paul after the Clippers loss to the Thunder on Tuesday night, telling the L.A. Times:

“Chris is going to be out. Hopefully we get him back soon, but other guys have got to step up. It’s a day-to-day thing. How long, I don’t know. But I don’t want to bring him back and then he’s out again like this time. So we’ll be as cautious as possible and try to work through it.”

Paul will definitely miss both games on their current road trip -- Thursday night against the Suns and Saturday against the Trail Blazers. He may be able to return to when they play Portland in the Staples Center on Sunday.

The good news for Clippers fans is they’ve been able to stay afloat without their MVP candidate, going 3-1 in his absence.
