Bradley Beal could sit out in order to rest an injured wrist as his Washington Wizards face the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, though head coach Randy Wittman told the Washington Post that it's still likely his rookie will play.
Bradley Beal injury: Wizards rookie might sit due to ailing wrist
The Washington Wizards are mulling the option to sit rookie wingman Bradley Beal, whose shooting performances have suffered following a wrist injury.

A hard fall in a Jan. 18 win against the Denver Nuggets led to Beal's recent shooting slump, and though he told the Post that he's done his best to fight through the injury, the rookie out of Florida said he might need to take time off. After all, he hasn't been all that productive of late, hitting just 35.7 percent of his shots and averaging 8.8 points in six games since the fall.
“I’m a tough kid. I feel as though it has to be broke in order for me not to play,” Beal told the Washington Post. “At the same time, I want a long career in this league and I have to take care of my body and I have to do what’s best for myself and my team. And I feel if I can’t make shots for my team then there is no purpose for me being on the floor.”
Averaging 13.2 points on 38.7 percent shooting for the year, Beal’s efficiency had dramatically increased in January before the injury. He is still averaging 15.1 points on 44.7 percent shooting in 15 total games this month.
Beal sat out of practice on Tuesday for what Wittman called precautionary reasons. He wore a wrist brace with a splint to limit movement.
