NBA scores: Knicks hold on for win after blowing 22-point lead

After blowing a 22-point lead in the fourth quarter, the New York Knicks survived in the final seconds to beat the Boston Celtics, 103-102, on Wednesday night. Rookie wing Tim Hardaway Jr. hit the game-winning shot with just eight seconds left to give New York its first victory of the preseason:

Before Hardaway's game-winning jumper, Boston was riding a 32-9 run. Rookie point guard Phil Pressey hit the basket to put Boston ahead with just 22 seconds remaining, his third basket in the final three minutes. However, Hardaway was able to complete his 16-point effort with the game's biggest basket to put Boston away.

Pelicans 99, Magic 95

The results might be meaningless, but you're excused for getting a little giddy about Anthony Davis after Wednesday night. The damage report from Orlando? 29 points, nine rebounds, four blocks and two assists in 31 minutes. He shot 9-of-20 from the field and 11-of-11 from the free throw line.

Sure, it's easy to point at the disappointing numbers from Jrue Holiday and Ryan Anderson, who finished a combined 8-of-26 from the field, but man, when Anthony Davis is on, he definitely looks like one of the best players in basketball.

Timberwolves 101, Raptors 89

Riding the late scoring of J.J. Barea, the Timberwolves coasted by Toronto on Wednesday night. Leading by seven midway through the final quarter, Barea scored eight of the team's final 10 points to put away the Raptors on the road.

Coming off a frustrating 2012-13 season, Timberwolves forward Kevin Love played well in his second preseason game, leading the way with 20 points and nine rebounds in 26 minutes. Nikola Pekovic also played solid ball, finishing with 12 points and eight rebounds in 22 minutes of action.

On the other hand, the Raptors' big duo of Rudy Gay and DeMar DeRozan was also effective, finishing with 28 points on 8-of-14 shooting and the first many sweet alley-oops:

Mavericks 95, Grizzlies 90

For the stat-heads who love Jon Leuer, Wednesday's game was a thing of beauty. While the Grizzlies didn't win, the former Wisconsin star put on a show in extended playing time, recording 17 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals over 34 minutes.

Ultimately, the 20-point effort of Dirk Nowitzki overshadowed Leuer's effort in a Mavericks victory determined long before the final buzzer, but it was a nice sign of life. Ed Davis, another young Grizz big man, also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Spurs 95, CSKA Moscow 93

After beating the Timberwolves in overtime on Monday, CSKA Moscow nearly earned another impressive exhibition win against San Antonio on Wednesday. However, this overtime affair didn't go in the Russian team's favor as Patty Mills hit a game-winning three with less than 12 seconds left to give San Antonio its first preseason win.

Entering the final quarter down by 15 points, CSKA Moscow appeared to be done for the night, but the team's starters rallied against the Spurs' reserves. Behind a big game from former NBA player Jeremy Pargo, who finished with 20 points, six rebounds and five assists, the comeback nearly came to fruition.

Suns 104, Trail Blazers 98

Goran Dragic scored 19 points in 18 minutes off the bench and dished out five assists to lead the Suns to a road win at the Rose Garden in their preseason debut. Damian Lillard led the Blazers with 19 points, and rookie Allen Crabbe poured in 14 off the bench.
