Phoenix Suns point guard Goran Dragic suffered a sprained left ankle in the Suns' 107-90 preseason loss to the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night.

Dragic injured the ankle when he stepped on Jimmer Fredette’s foot during a fast break early in the second half. Dragic had to be carried off the court and was taken back to the locker room shortly thereafter. This is the third consecutive preseason the 27-year-old has sprained an ankle.

Luckily, Paul Coro of The Arizona Republic reports that the prognosis is good for Dragic, who said the training staff believes he should be ready to go by the start of the regular season:

“It’s not too bad,” Dragic. “There is not a lot of swelling. I know it’s going to be OK.”

Dragic is coming off the most productive season of his career, and he’s expected to be a key piece for the rebuilding Suns, along with new backcourt partner Eric Bledsoe. Dragic averaged a career-high 14.7 points and 7.4 assists in 33.5 minutes per game last year.
