On Sunday, Terry spoke to reporters, including Mike Mazzeo of ESPN New York:
“It’s gonna be great, getting back out there with my teammates,” Terry said Sunday. “I’ve been out there in practice the last couple days. Everything’s been going fine, no setbacks. So just being able to get out there in real live game action, it’s gonna be good.”
Terry, 36, averaged 10 points and 2.5 assists last season in Boston. He was traded on draft night, along with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, to Brooklyn after just one season with the Celtics.
Larry Sanders working to keep calm
Sanders, the Bucks' starting center, has picked up two technicals in the preseason after finishing last season with 14 techs, the second-highest figure in the league. He was able to keep his cool in the playoffs last year when the Bucks were swept by the Miami Heat, not picking up a single technical foul, and hopes to carry that over in 2013-14.
Sanders, 24, told the Journal Sentinel that he needs to put in the same amount of work he did last year to keep those technical fouls down:
"I worked very hard, before and after games," Sanders said. "I spent a lot of quiet time, meditation, listening to classical music or gospel music. I spent a lot of time with God, my maker, just calming myself down. I was able to be in full communication with him throughout the game.
The Milwaukee Bucks made Sanders a cornerstone of their franchise this offseason, extending the 6'11 big man a four-year $44 million contract. His development -- he finished third in Most Improved Player voting last season -- is one of the bright spots for the Bucks' future.
Bargnani suffering from a stiff back
Andrea Bargnani, 27, will make the trip to Toronto with his teammates despite feeling stiffness in his back, according to Adam Zagoria. The Raptors traded Bargnani to the Knicks this summer after a disappointing seven seasons with the team.
Bargnani, the former No. 1 overall pick, has never lived up the standards that come with being the NBA’s top draft selection. He averaged 15.2 points per game in his seven seasons in Toronto, but struggled in rebounding -- his 4.8 career average is dangerously low for a 7-footer -- and defending in the post.
Knicks unsure if Iman Shumpert will play Monday
Shumpert left Thursday night's game early against the Washington Wizards with a sprained elbow. The Knicks are unsure if he will be able to play Monday night in Toronto.
The former Georgia Tech guard has proven to be a versatile defender and offensive option during his first two years in New York. Keeping him out of Monday’s game against the Raptors would give him a little more time to recover before the start of the season.
