Denver Nuggets guard Nate Robinson has no problem understanding why the Chicago Bulls opted not to bring him back as a free agent this past offseason, via K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune:

Denver Nuggets point guard Nate Robinson misses Chicago but isn’t mad that the Bulls let him go. With Derrick Rose back, his scoring simply wasn’t what they needed.

"It's a business," he said. "Everybody knew I wanted to come back, but they had other things in mind. They signed a great shooter in (Mike) Dunleavy. They got a good rookie (Tony Snell). They've got a great team.
"I miss it. I would be lying if I said that I didn't. ... I had a hell of a year and it was a great run."
Robinson was a vital part of The Bulls' attack last year in Derrick Rose's absence, averaging 13.1 points and 4.4 assists in 25 minutes per game in the regular season. He averaged 16.3 points per game in the playoffs, including a 34-point outburst in a triple-overtime game in the first round against Brooklyn Nets in which he scored all but five after the third quarter. His 27-point, nine-assist performance in a Game 1 win against the Miami Heat in the second round will also surely be remembered in Chicago.
While the Bulls have championship aspirations with their superstar back in the lineup, the Nuggets lost some firepower in the offseason. This year Robinson will once again be a part of a team looking to overachieve and make some noise in the postseason.
