On Wednesday night, New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith and Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Jennings had a bit of a Twitter fight. Now, the NBA is "looking into" the tweets sent from Smith to Jennings, via Scott Cacciola of the New York Times.

Jennings made the point that Smith's brother, Chris Smith, holds a questionably earned NBA roster spot while Jennings' fellow L.A. natives and point guards Pooh Jeter and Bobby Brown are playing oversees. Smith fired back with what appeared to be a threat directed toward Jennings, which has since been deleted:
It’s unsurprising that the NBA is investigating this. While Jennings isn’t directly mentioned in Smith’s tweet, it’s fairly obvious who he’s talking about in Detroit. One would think that if the NBA does come to the conclusion that this was a threat from one NBA player to another, there will be a fine and/or suspension coming Smith’s way.
