Mavericks vs. Heat final score: LeBron James scores 39 in Miami’s 110-104 win over Dallas

The Mavericks made a late run, but LeBron is apparently pretty good at basketball

The Heat, with the league's best offense via Basketball-Reference, ran past the Mavericks in the final minutes to win a rematch of the 2011 NBA finals, 110-104. LeBron James was unstoppable, scoring 39 points on 14-of-18 shooting from the field. He also grabbed six rebounds and notched four assists.

As a team, the Heat shot 54 percent from the floor and knocked down 25 of 30 free throws. The Mavericks scorched the Heat from range, connecting on 12 attempts, but turned the ball over 24 times in their fourth loss of the season.

Dallas cut the lead to one late, but then James backed down Monta Ellis, who continuously pecked James with arm shots. James took the contact and faded back off one foot, a shot that mirrors Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki's patented post jumper. He then knocked down a pair of free throws to seal the Heat's victory.

Nowitzki was in Vintage Nowitzki Mode, scoring 28 points on 12 shots from the floor. He sunk nine of his 10 free throw attempts and was 3 of 5 from behind the three-point line. Ellis contributed 20 points, and Vince Carter chipped in 21 off the bench.

Both teams play back-to-backs with the back end finishing up on Saturday. Miami (6-3) hits the road to play the Charlotte Bobcats, and the Mavericks travel to Orlando to complete the Florida road trip.
