Hawks vs. Heat final score: Miami stifles, outshoots Atlanta, 104-88

Miami’s attention to detail on the defensive end showed on Tuesday night as it forced the visiting Hawks to commit 24 turnovers.

Chris Bosh led all scorers with 19 points on a stellar 8-of-9 performance from the field as the Miami Heat defeated the Atlanta Hawks, 104-88, at American Airlines Arena on Tuesday night.

The Hawks committed 24 turnovers and allowed Miami to shoot 50.6 percent from the field. Atlanta jumped out to an early one-point lead after the first quarter but committed 14 turnovers in the second and third quarters combined to fall behind for good.

Ray Allen added 17 points for the Heat and was 5-of-10 from the field, including a 3-of-6 effort from the three-point line. LeBron James was quiet with 13 points, six rebounds and five assists on the evening, while Dwyane Wade sat out the first game of the Heat's back-to-back set.

Mike Scott led the way for the Hawks with 15 points while adding 10 rebounds. Al Horford added 12 points and seven rebounds but committed seven turnovers while Jeff Teague flirted with a double-double, netting nine points and seven assists.

Miami won the battle of the paint with 48 points to the Hawks’ 38.
