Timberwolves vs. Rockets recap: Aaron Brooks goes off in 112-101 Rockets win

James Harden was out for Houston, but Aaron Brooks gave the team a huge boost off the bench.

The Houston Rockets rode the hot hand of Aaron Brooks in a 112-101 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Brooks scored 26 points off the bench, going six-of-seven from beyond the arc. James Harden did not play, but the Rockets' double point guard lineup featuring Jeremy Lin and Patrick Beverley combined for 36 points and eight assists.

Houston’s entire offense was roaring. All five starters reached double-digit scoring. The Rockets shot 54 percent from deep and 51 percent overall. Terrence Jones finished with a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds starting next to Dwight Howard in Houston’s frontcourt.

Kevin Love scored a game-high 27 points on 50 percent shooting while pulling down a game-high fifteen rebounds. J.J. Barea struggled off the bench for Minnesota, making just one of his 10 shot attempts in 18 minutes of playing time.

Omer Asik played 13 minutes off the bench and finished with two points and eight rebounds. Howard had 11 points and 13 rebounds.
