Boston Celtics rookie big man Kelly Olynyk could miss a "couple of weeks" with a sprained ankle, according to Brad Stevens.

The first year coach told reporters on Saturday that the ankle injury may be a blessing in disguise, as Olynyk was dealing with other slight injuries, as well:

"He had a little bit of a hamstring (injury) that he was dealing with too," Celtics head coach Brad Stevens told reporters on Saturday. "That scares me more because that can become a lingering thing."

The 7-footer injured his ankle in the first half of Boston's 97-82 loss to the Indiana Pacers Friday night when he collided with Indiana's Luis Scola. He did not return to the game and was using crutches afterwards.

Olynyk had started in six of Boston’s last eight games. He’s having a so-so start to his rookie year, averaging 7.5 points and 5.4 rebounds in almost 23 minutes of play.

He is looked at as one of the cornerstones of the Celtics’ future, so getting him healthy early should be the teams’ main concern moving forward.
