Thibodeau did not reveal whether the procedure would be to re-attach the meniscus, though it appears all parties are leaning toward that option, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

There is still no timetable on his return, though there is a wide range of possibilities. If the decision is made to remove the meniscus, recovery could take as little as a few weeks. Metta World Peace made a 12-day recovery after removing his meniscus last season. The decision to remove the meniscus, however, could shorten Rose's long-term effectiveness.
It seems more likely that they will take the long view of his career, which means the recovery could take months. Russell Westbrook suffered a meniscus tear during the 2013 NBA Playoffs and needed six months to recover after a minor setback during training camp.
Re-attaching the meniscus could jeopardize the remainder Rose’s 2013-2014 season but could elongate his career. Expect another update in the next 48 hours on the nature of the surgery.
