Houston Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin suffered a bruised right knee in the first quarter Wednesday night and will not return against the Atlanta Hawks. The team will presumably make a further statement regarding his status after the game.
Jeremy Lin injury: Rockets guard out with bruised right knee
Let’s hope the Rockets PG isn’t the next big name to go down long-term.
UPDATE: Jeremy Lin @JLin7 will not return tonight due to right knee bruise suffered in first quarter

Lin played just four minutes Wednesday night before going down. He was quiet, recording just one rebound and one assist while shooting 0 for 1 from the field, and needed help off the court from a trainer following the injury.
With Patrick Beverley already in the starting lineup replacing the ailing James Harden, the Rockets have turned to Aaron Brooks early on to take Lin's spot. At halftime against Atlanta, Brooks has eight points and two assists on 3-of-5 shooting from the field.
A wave of knee injuries has hit the NBA lately, taking out Derrick Rose, Andre Iguodala, Marc Gasol and Bradley Beal. Let's hope Lin avoids a similar fate.
