Returning from a few days off as he still recovers from offseason knee surgery, Westbrook never found his rhythm on the court against the Spurs. Though he dished out eight assists, the guard’s abysmal 2-of-16 shooting effort stands as easily his worst in the past year-plus.

Of course, the Nets still lost the game. But it’s a pretty savvy move by the first year head coach. Kidd and Taylor tried to play it off as an accident after the game:

After sitting out the team’s win over Utah last Sunday, Westbrook returned against San Antonio and simply never found his form. Over 32 minutes, he scored just six points on 2-of-16 shooting, which represents arguably his worst performance in years.

Dirk is now wearing a turkey head and I am excited to see what they have up their sleeves.
