Michael Kidd-Gilchrist injury: Bobcats F suffering from plantar fasciitis, out vs. Bucks

Charlotte Bobcats sophomore forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was in so much pain he wore a walking boot Thursday.

Charlotte Bobcats forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is suffering from plantar fasciitis in his right foot and has been ruled out of their game against the Milwaukee Bucks Friday, reports Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer. Head coach Steve Clifford will start Jeff Taylor in his place.

The pain was severe enough to force Kidd-Gilchrist to wear a walking boot on Thursday, and there is no outlook on how long the injury could leave him sidelined. Clifford stated he is “optimistic” the injury could clear up in a few days.

The second-year forward is averaging a career-high 9.5 points per game while shooting 50.9 percent from the field, five percent higher than his rookie year. He has started in all 16 of the Bobcats’ games, averaging 27.4 minutes per game.

Charlotte's next game is Sunday when they visit the Miami Heat. That begins a two-game road trip that ends in Dallas on Tuesday. The Bobcats are 7-9, which is currently the seventh-best record in the Eastern Conference.
