Wizards coach Randy Wittman fined $20,000 for f-bomb

Washington Wizards head coach Randy Wittman was fined $20,000 by the NBA for swearing in a post-game presser.

Washington Wizards head coach Randy Wittman has been fined $20,000 for his use of profanity in a post-game press conference, the NBA announced on Monday afternoon.

After Washington's 109-102 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, Wittman colorfully told reporters what he thought of his team's effort, via Bullets Forever:

Well, you tell me what you thought the problem was. You watched the game. Commitment to f****** playing defense. It’s what it is,” he said. It’s what it boils down to, all right? It’s a thing our guys haven’t learned and I’ve got to figure out a way.”

The Wizards were 0-2 at that point. After losing 103-93 to the Miami Heat on Sunday, they are 0-3. While it's still extremely early, this is not the start that the team envisioned after acquiring center Marcin Gortat just before the start of the regular season. The fine just caps off what has been a disappointing first week for Wittman and the Wizards.
