Bobcats head coach Steve Clifford will miss the Bobcats’ game against the Knicks Friday after undergoing heart procedure.
The Charlotte Bobcats announced Friday morning that coach Steve Clifford checked into the hospital Thursday night after "not feeling well." Clifford was held overnight as a precaution and is undergoing more tests. His status for Friday night's game against the New York Knicks is still yet to be determined.
Clifford is 3-2 in his young head coaching career with Charlotte. The Bobcats hired the 52-year-old this past offseason after letting go of Mike Dunlap.
Clifford got his start in the NBA as an advanced scout with New York. Clifford became an assistant coach with the Knicks under Jeff Van Gundy and moved with him to the Houston Rockets. Clifford then joined Stan Van Gundy's staff in Orlando, where he spent five seasons before moving on to the Los Angeles Lakers.
