Bradley Beal injury: Wizards guard cleared to increase basketball activities
The sophomore guard isn’t practicing yet, but there’s been improvement.

Wizards guard Bradley Beal has been cleared to increase basketball activities after a follow-up MRI exam showed improvement in the stress injury to his right fibula.
Beal first sustained the injury toward the end of his rookie campaign, and he aggravated it at the beginning of this season while leading the NBA in minutes. There is no word yet on when he’ll be fully participating in practice and ready to make his return.
Beal has missed Washington’s last seven games and the team has gone 4-3 in his absence. He is averaging 20.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 40 minutes per game, shooting 40.7 percent from the field and 43.9 percent from the three-point line this season.
The Wizards also announced that forward Al Harrington had knee surgery and will miss at least the next four weeks:
Wizards forward Al Harrington underwent a diagnostic arthroscopy and lavage procedure this evening to clean out loose particles in his right knee. He will miss the next four weeks and then be re-evaluated. The procedure was performed by Dr. Richard Steadman in Vail, Colorado.
Harrington last suited up for the Washington on Nov. 12 and has been nursing a sore right knee since. He had a recent setback when trying to dial up his rehab effort, according to Michael Lee of the Washington Post.
