Brooklyn’s starting shooting guard scored 29 points in the third frame alone, going 10-for-13 from the field and hitting eight threes in those 12 minutes. He outscored the Sixers all by himself in the period, on his way to 37 on the night.

In fact, Johnson nearly matched the NBA record for a quarter, but fell just four points shy. The record is currently held by Carmelo Anthony and George Gervin, who both went for 33 points in a quarter in December of 2008 and April of 1978, respectively.
The Nets have been on a major upswing since Deron Williams returned from injury, and Monday night may have been the best moment yet.
