Milwaukee Bucks center Larry Sanders could return to the lineup from a right thumb injury as early as next week, according to Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Sanders isn’t practicing with the team yet, but he’s working out twice a day and has been able to do some shooting despite wearing a protective glove on his right wrist.

Sanders injured his thumb in a bar fight in downtown Milwaukee on Nov. 3. The big man suffered a torn ligament in the fight and underwent surgery on Nov. 11. He was projected to miss six weeks with the injury, and Monday marks six weeks after the surgery.

The Bucks could certainly use Sanders back in the lineup given the other injuries in the frontcourt. Zaza Pachulia will miss a few more weeks due to a broken foot, while Ersan Ilyasova will be shut down for at least a few games as he deals with a nagging ankle injury.

Milwaukee has three games before Christmas that Sanders will almost certainly miss, however, he could return when the Bucks face the Brooklyn Nets at home on Dec. 27.
