Jason Kidd losing grip on Nets locker room, per report

Lacking direction and structure, the feeling is that Kidd doesn’t have firm control in Brooklyn.

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

First-year coach Jason Kidd may be losing control of the Brooklyn Nets players just 29 games into the NBA season, per a report from Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

After a public battle with assistant coach Lawrence Frank that saw the former Pistons and Nets coach demoted to filing reports, things have descended into chaos for Brooklyn.

Once considered serious contenders during the offseason, Brooklyn has limped out of the gate -- literally and figuratively -- at just 10-19, putting them at eleventh in the Eastern Conference and out of the playoff picture.

Nets players are confused about their role on the team, and the feeling in the Brooklyn locker room is that Kidd simply gave up on them during their Christmas Day outing against the Chicago Bulls, according to the report.

Deron Williams recently returned to the lineup for the Nets after missing time due to an ankle injury, and Brooklyn has taken advantage of having their best player back on the court, winning four of the last five games.

Things won't get any easier for Kidd, as Brooklyn's next three games are against the Indiana Pacers, San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder.
