Nets’ Mirza Teletovic says he wants to stay in Brooklyn

The forward was rumored to have made a trade request, despite increased recent playing time.

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Brooklyn Nets forward Mirza Teletovic's agent, Miodrag Raznatovic, apparently said on a Bosnian television show that he and his client had requested a trade, via the Sarajevo Times. At Tuesday's shootaround, Teletovic told reporters he had no knowledge of this and did not want to be moved, via Tim Bontempts of the New York Post:

Teletovic received DNP-CD’s in six of Brooklyn’s first 11 games. In sporadic playing time, he struggled with his shot. Over the last six games, however, he has been a major part of head coach Jason Kidd’s rotation, averaging 9.7 points and 5.3 rebounds while shooting 49 percent from the field and 52 percent from behind the three-point line.

On Friday against the Houston Rockets, Teletovic had season-highs of 18 points and 13 rebounds in 32 minutes, albeit in a blowout loss. While Raznatovic apparently said that the improved playing time did not change his desire for a trade, Teletovic has never publicly said that he wants out.
