Budding New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metacarpal of his left hand, the team announced on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, New Orleans announced that its 20-year-old superstar will miss at least a month with a hand fracture.
Davis, 20, was injured in the first quarter Sunday night against the New York Knicks.

Through 16 games, the second-year big man is averaging 19 points, 10 rebounds and nearly four blocks per game.
Advanced statistics paint the picture of one of the league's most efficient players. In the first month, Davis has registered a 56.8 percent True Shooting rate, via Basketball-Reference. He's also recorded the second highest PER in the league, trailing only LeBron James.
The Pelicans are 12 points per 100 possessions and eight points per 100 possessions better when Davis is on the floor, again via Basketball-Reference.
New Orleans (9-8) will struggle in Davis’ absence to replace that type of production.
