Stephen Jackson will soon be a Los Angeles Clipper, according to a report.

The Los Angeles Clippers are closing in on the signing of former San Antonio Spurs forward Stephen Jackson, according to sources briefed on the talks.
Sources told ESPN.com that a deal with Jackson is on course to be finalized this week, potentially before the Clippers visit the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night in coach Doc Rivers' first game there since leaving the Celtics in June to take over in L.A.
Jackson provides some much-needed depth on the wing, with the Clippers reeling from injuries to J.J. Redick, Matt Barnes and Reggie Bullock. After Bullock got injured in Cleveland on Saturday, Los Angeles head coach Doc Rivers jokingly asked reporters to suggest some free agents who could be available.
The last time Jackson stepped on an NBA floor was as a member of the San Antonio Spurs in April. He was waived just before last year's playoffs started, and he missed out on the Spurs' run to the finals.
The 35-year-old expressed his excitement to be back in the league on Sunday night via Twitter:

While Jackson will not solve the Clippers’ depth issues on the inside, he does give them a versatile defensive weapon to deploy against opposing perimeter players. As well as filling a need for the injury-ravaged Clippers at the moment, he could prove valuable come playoff time.
