The Los Angeles Clippers scored 46 first-quarter points and never looked back in a 106-96 rout of the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night at Staples Center.

The Clippers used an offensive barrage in the first quarter to pull away from the helpless Rockets in their homecoming game following a long road trip.

The Clippers (38-17) used 17 first-quarter points from Caron Butler to put on an offensive show. They shot a blazing 77.3 percent from the field and made 6-of-8 three-pointers for a whopping 75 percent while committing just one turnover. Houston (29-26) could never catch up, as they made just 5-of-24 shots from the three-pont line.
Blake Griffin collected a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds for L.A.
Chandler Parsons led the scoring for Houston, as he finished with 17 points on 7-of-16 shooting and added six rebounds and four assists. Jeremy Lin finished with 14 points and seven assists to cap the third game in four days in his home state.
It was a balanced effort on all fronts for Los Angeles, who saw five players score in double figures. Houston scored 21 fast break points and dominated the points in the paint by a margin of 54-32, but 21 turnovers resulting in 21 Clippers' points made all the difference as L.A. cruised into the All-Star break with some momentum after going 4-4 on their season-long eight-game road trip.
