NBA All-Star Game 2013: Carmelo Anthony’s status in question after arm injury
Carmelo Anthony took a shot to his shooting arm Wednesday night and lost sensation in it for the rest of the night. He said after the game he isn’t a sure thing to play in Sunday’s All-Star Game.

Anthony shot 5-24 on the night, scoring just 12 points. After the game, he said he didn’t have much feeling in that arm and threw his availability for the NBA All-Star Game, Sunday night in Houston, into question. Here’s what Seth Rosenthal at Posting and Toasting had to say about it:
I'm sure he'll still end up playing in Houston. If his arm is really still bugging him, he'll probably just start as expected but play limited minutes. (Or maybe Erik Spoelstra will sabotage Melo and play him all 48, then pull him aside afterward and gnaw off his fingers.)
That seems about right, even the finger-gnawing part (Spoelstra looks like the Krav Maga type). I don’t know just how bad the contusion is, but anyone who’s gotten a “dead arm,” as ‘Melo called it, knows it kills for a few days and is gone a week later. Anthony didn’t think it was serious enough to take himself out.
The All-Star Game doesn't have quite the star power this year as it has in years past, although Paul George should put on a show, so the NBA is really hoping Anthony — who despite flak taken over his basketball ability is still one of the five most recognizable players in the league — can grit his teeth and play through it Sunday night.
