2013 NBA All-Star Game: Chris Bosh to start for Rajon Rondo

Bosh joins LeBron James and Dwyane Wade to give the Miami Heat three representatives in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game.

The Miami Heat will be well-represented on the floor to start Sunday's NBA All-Star game. Eastern Conference head coach Erik Spoelstra told Dr. Jack Ramsey on the radio Friday that Chris Bosh will start in place of Rajon Rondo.

The decision means that LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Bosh will all be in the starting lineup for the East. With no point guard, James and Wade will likely handle the ball.

Spoelstra had two point guards on his roster -- Kyrie Irving and Jrue Holiday -- but decided to choose Bosh to fill Rondo's spot instead. The only non-Miami representatives starting for the East will be Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony.

Bosh has been a member of the East’s All-Star team every year since 2006, but his only previous start came in the 2007 All-Star game.

The 28-year old is averaging 17.7 points and 7.4 rebounds per game this season for Miami.
