NBA D-League All-Star Game results: Prospects beat Futures, 139-125

Riding a balanced offensive attack, the Prospects beat the Futures in the 2013 NBA D-League All-Star Game, 139-125, on Saturday afternoon. In a preview of the kind of scoring to be expected in the main event Sunday, the two teams combined to rack up over 260 points despite playing just two 20-minute halves.

After taking a 69-65 lead into halftime, the Prospects burst through in the second half to pull away for the double-digit win. The result was rarely in doubt during the final minutes of the game.

In a rare opportunity for many of these players to get exposure to a higher degree, several players thrived for the Prospects team. Every player on the roster but D.J. Kennedy (who nearly had a triple-double) scored in double-figures, led by Travis Leslie's 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting.

With little challenge coming from the defense end, the Prospects knocked down tons of easy shots, finishing the game shooting 56 percent from the floor despite making just 5-of-19 attempts from beyond the arc. On two-point shots, the team was an efficient 62 percent for the game.

The Futures team didn't play quite as well, displaying similar struggles from beyond the arc while losing the battle on the boards, but a few players stood out. DaJuan Summers played quite well, leading all scorers with 28 points on 12 of 19 shooting, plus former Washington Wizard Shelvin Mack nearly had a double-double with eight points and 12 assists.
