Two weeks after performing the national anthem at the Super Bowl, Alicia Keys will continue her tour around major sporting events by being the sole act for the halftime show at the NBA All-Star Game.

The New York native performed the national anthem two weeks ago at the Super Bowl.
Keys released her fifth studio album, Girl On Fire, back on November 22, 2012. Her lead single from that album, also entitled “Girl On Fire,” reached No. 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song has an “Inferno Version” that features Nicki Minaj.
Her latest single from the album is “Brand New Me.”
Since breaking onto the scene in 2001, Keys has become one of the top-selling recording artists in the world. All four of her previous studio albums have went platinum. She has had three songs reach No. 1 in the United States, including “Fallin,” “My Boo” and “No One.” Fallin also won Song of the Year at the 2002 Grammy Awards.
Perhaps her most recognized song is “Empire State of Mind” with Jay-Z. That song, which appeared on Jay-Z’s album, also reached No. 1.
Keys is known as much for her voice, as she is for her piano skills. She performed the national anthem at the Super Bowl while playing the piano and is expected to have one on stage Sunday in Houston. There are not expected to be any guest performers with her.
The event has had several notable female performers in the past. Since 2003, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, LeAnn Rimes, Carrie Underwood, Christina Aguilera, Shakira and Rihanna have all taken the stage during halftime.
Carey's halftime show is one of the most memorable in league history, as she performed a tribute to Michale Jordan in 2003, while wearing his Washington Wizards' jersey.
When the NBA All-Star game was in Houston in 2006, John Legend and Carrie Underwood were the performers. A year ago, Pitbull, Ne-Yo, Nayer and Chris Brown performed at halftime in Orlando.
A native of New York, Keys has been seen at New York Knicks' games with her husband, Swizz Beatz. Last season, they made a one of their first public appearances with their baby son, Egypt, at a Knicks game.
Keys isn’t the only performer on All-Star Sunday. Legend is performing the national anthem before the game, while Gloria Reuben will perform the Canadian national anthem.
On Saturday night, Ellie Goulding, Phillip Phillips and Fall Out Boy performed during the festivities.
