NBA All-Star Game 2013: James Harden will play

James Harden will play in the 2013 All-Star Game on Sunday despite missing the Rockets’ game against the Clippers on Wednesday.

James Harden will play in the 2013 All-Star Game on Sunday in Houston, according to NBA.com's Jason Friedman. Harden's status was questionable after he missed Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers with an ankle injury.

For more on this story, head over to The Dream Shake.

Harden is the NBA's fifth-leading scorer, averaging 26.1 points per game for the Rockets, who currently hold the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference playoff race. His performance during the opening half of the season garnered him his first NBA All-Star selection, allowing him to be the unofficial "host player" of the 2013 edition of the contest.

Perhaps most importantly, Harden's ability to play in the All-Star game means it's very likely he'll be ready to go when the Rockets resume play on Wednesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Coverage of the 2013 NBA All-Star Game will begin Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET on TNT.
