The Sacramento Kings have a major issue at hand right now, and it isn't the roster that the organization is mulling over. With the ownership, and location of the team up in the air, the Kings won't be looking to make any roster moves before the deadline.

The Sacramento Kings will not be active on the trade market as the deadline passes.

The Kings have been riding rookie contracts the last few years to keep the ball rolling while they rebuild. Tyreke Evans will be a restricted free agent this summer, but there has been little discussion of either side's plan going forward. Evans is putting up 15.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game this season. James Johnson will be coming off of his rookie contract as well for the Kings. Johnson is playing 17.1 minutes per game and averaging 5.4 points and 2.9 rebounds in that time.
Still, the Kings' centerpiece is DeMarcus Cousins, who has had a rocky season off the court with the organization. In December, Cousins revealed that a major issue he's having difficulties coping with is the amount of stress losing causes him. DeMarcus is locked in with the Kings through 2014.
The Kings are over the salary cap this season with $58 million on the books, but will slide back under the cap with $43 million on the horizon for 2013-2014.
Sacramento also has three players with team options in the summer: Isaiah Thomas, Francisco Garcia and Tyler Honeycutt. Thomas, the 60th draft pick in the 2011 NBA draft, is now the starting point guard for the Kings. He is averaging 12.3 points per game on 43.5 percent shooting, along with 3.3 assists. If the Kings do look to cut money off of the books once new ownership is in place, Garcia's $6.4 million option is a quick and easy way to do just that.
So ... that’s it?
It appears so. With a hazy future ahead for the Kings, and no indication as to who will be running the team, Sacramento will be silently waiting for big moves in the front office, but not on the court. Current general manager Geoff Petrie doesn’t believe the Kings will be making any moves involving their top players while they handle organizational issues, via Jason Jones of The Bee:
“It’s very unlikely we’d move any of our top players at this point,” basketball president Geoff Petrie said. The unsettled ownership situation has put deals on hold.
