The Minnesota Timberwolves have inquired about Utah Jazz forward Paul Millsap, and ESPN's Chris Broussard reported on Wednesday that the T-Wolves are dangling second-year forward Derrick Williams as a trade piece.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are interested in Utah Jazz forward Paul Millsap and could swap Derrick Williams for him in a trade.

Both Millsap and fellow Utah big man Al Jefferson have been subjects of trade rumors. The Jazz have been willing to move one of them with ample depth up front with younger big men in Enes Kanter and Derrick Favors.
That, however, makes a swap for Williams and interesting move. The No. 2 draft pick in 2011, Williams was selected behind Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star Kyrie Irving and has failed to live up to expectations. The 6'8, 241-pound combo forward is averaging 9.9 points and five rebounds per game, but his attempt to play more small forward as a pro has resulted in a 41.2 percent shooting clip in his career.
Coincidentally, Williams played perhaps his best game as a pro against the Jazz in the T-Wolves’ final game before the All-Star break. He scored 24 points and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds.
Millsap is averaging 15 points and 7.4 rebounds per game in his seventh NBA season.
