With Lakers owner Jerry Buss's memorial service coming this Thursday, ESPN touched on Buss' impact for a moment. Magic Johnson, the king of Showtime on the court, spoke about the king of Showtime off the court.

With tears welling in his eyes, Magic talked about what he might say at the memorial service, at which he’ll be a main speaker.

[I’ll] talk about all the good times I had with him. ... He helped me become a man. [To] remember that he touched my life in such an incredible way and I owe him a lot. I don’t know what I’m going to say, it’s just going to come from my heart and just thank him for everything he did for me and the fans of L.A. and the game of basketball.

Other speakers will include Jerry West, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Phil Jackson, Pau Gasol, Pat Riley, Kobe Bryant, David Stern and more. It will be televised live by Time Warner Cable SportsNet at 3 p.m. PST.
