The New York Knicks have traded Ronnie Brewer to the Oklahoma City Thunder, reports Darnell Mayberry of The Oklahoman. In addition to a trade exception, the Knicks will receive a second-round pick, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports.

The Knicks have traded wingman Ronnie Brewer to the Thunder, according to reports.

Brewer is on a small $1 million contract. He'll be a free agent at season's end. He's appeared in 46 games for New York this season and started 34, but he's averaging just 15 minutes per game. Brewer has fallen far down Mike Woodson's rotation, though, picking up less than 100 total minutes over 12 games in January.
Brewer is 27. He did time with the Utah Jazz, where he was the No. 14 pick in 2006, and the Chicago Bulls. The Knicks will be paying luxury tax, so trading Brewer now lowers the team's hit by $1 million. There have also been rumors that, depending on Rasheed Wallace's health, the Knicks could pick up a cheap free agent big man like Lou Amundson to help down the stretch.
