Lakers rumors: L.A. interested in Raja Bell if Jazz buy out contract

The Lakers continue to look to make minor adjustments to their roster, even as the trade deadline passes. If the Utah Jazz buy out the contract of veteran Raja Bell, the Lakers would be interested in adding him.

The Los Angeles Lakers were quiet at the NBA trade deadline, keeping their roster intact, but even after the deadline continue to be linked to Raja Bell of the Utah Jazz.

If the Jazz decide to buy out Bell, the Lakers would make an attempt to sign the veteran guard, who wants to play again and has been working out in Fort Lauderdale, via Alex Kennedy of HOOPSWORLD.

Thursday morning it was reported that the Lakers were looking to move an array of bench players for second-round draft picks. Unfortunately for Los Angeles, no teams were willing to bite on sending a draft pick out for Steve Blake, Darius Morris, Chris Duhon or Devin Ebanks. It would have been a money-saving move for the Lakers to clear one of those players off the books while also opening a roster spot, and the Lakers were also awarded a disabled-player exception when Jordan Hill was put on the shelf for the remainder of the season.

Silver Screen and Roll: Lakers interested in Raja Bell

Bell hasn’t played for the Jazz this season and has been in discussions to resolve his contract situation with the organization for months. Asked what could happen with Bell’s contract, Jazz general manager Dennis Lindsey had “no comment,” via Bill Oram of The Salt Lake Tribune.
