New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony will not be suspended by the league for his role in the skirmish involving teammate Tyson Chandler and Philadelphia 76ers big man Spencer Hawes on Sunday night, Brian Mahoney of the Associated Press reports.
Carmelo Anthony won’t be suspended for foul on Spencer Hawes
Carmelo Anthony will not be suspended for his role in Sunday night’s fight involving Tyson Chandler and Spencer Hawes.

While the fight ultimately became about Chandler and Hawes, it began when Anthony hit the Sixers center in the back of the head, which is what Hawes was reacting to. Chandler then responded by shoving Hawes away from Melo, at which point Hawes became even angrier.
Eventually, both sides were able to pull away without any real damage being done, but Anthony was slapped with a flagrant foul for hitting Hawes. There was some concern that the league might opt to suspend Anthony for the action, but it appears they’ve ultimately decided against that.
