Kyrie Irving will he held out of Cleveland's game with Chicago on Tuesday night due to soreness in his hyper-extended right knee, which Cavs head coach Byron Scott confirmed in their morning shoot-around.

While the injury isn’t expected to be serious, it does rob much of the national luster from the game, which will be televised on NBATV.

Irving has averaged 36 minutes a night since coming back from a hand injury that caused him to a month earlier in the season. Cleveland may be holding him out as a precautionary measure, as it’s unclear whether he incurred the injury in their last game, a 109-105 loss to Miami on Sunday.
The last time Irving played the Bulls, their stifling defense held him relatively in check. He had 15 points and 6 assist on 4-of-11 shooting in a 118-92 loss on Jan 2.
