Coach K wants to focus on Duke after USA Basketball experience
After announcing his departure from USA Basketball on Tuesday, Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski hit the radio to discuss his experience coaching the nation’s best.

Transcribed on Sports Radio Interviews, Coach K discussed how coaching the game’s best players taught him things and made him excited as a teacher of the game.
USA Basketball was really great for me. It made me a better coach and ... I think I was going pretty hard anyway, with a lot of passion, but I learned a lot in those seven years. That gets you excited because it teaches you even more about the game. I’ve learned a lot about the game in these last seven years that I’d still like to teach.
Hired by Team USA in 2003 to repair a team that had finished sixth in the 2002 World Championships, Krzyzewski’s stint as the head coach of America’s basketball team was undoubtedly a success.
With gold medals at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics in addition to a first-place finish at the 2010 World Championships, Coach K brought the U.S. back to the top of the basketball world. Now, it appears he wants to focus on what he does best, though, and that’s troll the entire college basketball scene as the coach at Duke.
