The Los Angeles Clippers have reportedly thrown a trade scenario at the Boston Celtics that involves forward Kevin Garnett, according to the Sporting News' Sean Deveney. Just how the deal might stick remains to be seen.

The Sporting News’ Sean Deveney reports that the Los Angeles Clippers are interested in the Boston Celtics’ Kevin Garnett.

The Clippers would receive Garnett, the aging All-Star, in return for a package that includes veteran swingman Caron Butler and backup point guard Eric Bledsoe, Deveney reports. While that would net Boston a talented and youthful point guard, a number of things could prevent any talks of such a deal from moving forward.
Namely, any deal would hinge on the fact that Garnett is one of four elite NBA players who have no-trade clauses in their contracts. The appeal in Los Angeles would obviously be the potential to chase a championship, and if Garnett liked the situation, he would be able to drop the no-trade clause.
Furthermore, Boston has yet to decide whether they’re going to blow up the roster or continue to fight for a playoff berth this season, as Deveney notes.
Paul Pierce's name has also been thrown about in the rumor mill, and he could also be an option to be shipped to the Clippers. Pierce is from the Los Angeles area, and it's a good bet the Celtics will be picky in shipping off either The Truth or Garnett -- picky as in finding either of them a happy new home -- if they decide to start a rebuilding project.
