It hasn't been a good year for Michael Beasley and the Phoenix Suns. After signing a relatively large three-year, $18 million deal this offseason, Beasley has put up underwhelming numbers in the desert. On top of that, he could be having some legal trouble as well.

Beasley was recently pulled over by a police officer because he was going 71 mph in an area where the speed limit was 45 mph, according to ArizonaSports.com. The incident took place in the early morning on Jan. 25.
Beasley was also reportedly driving with a suspended license and had a loaded gun in the car. However, the officer did not arrest Beasley due to the forward’s cooperation.
The police report states Beasley was handcuffed at 1:37 a.m. and brought to the patrol vehicle. The officer determined that based on Beasley’s height he was not going to fit well in the back seat of the car.
Around 2:00 a.m., the report states, the officer told Beasley that since he was cooperative he would “cut him a small break” and cite him and release him from the scene instead of taking him to jail.
Michael Beasley is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 11.
He is averaging a career-low 10.6 points per game and 3.9 rebounds per game on 39.7 percent shooting from the field this season.
