Detroit Pistons rookie center Andre Drummond is expected to be out for 4-6 weeks due to a stress fracture of the fifth lumbar vertebra, according to MLive's David Mayo.

The Pistons’ frontcourt depth took a hit Friday with the news that rookie Andre Drummond could be out as much as a few weeks with his back injury.

The 19-year-old big man missed Thursday's practice and sat out Friday's shootaround, so this news isn't exactly coming out of no where. Drummond originally strained his back this past Sunday while trying to block a shot from Lakers guard Steve Blake and has played a total of 13 minutes in the two games since then.
Drummond had said earlier in the week that this injury wasn't related to the back pain he went through over the summer, but the timetable for his return suggests otherwise. The team is currently only ruling him out for the next two games though which could mean his injury is more of a day-to-day than a week-to-week thing. Viacheslav Kravtsov is expected to be the next man up in his place.
Drummond has averaged 7.3 points and 7.5 rebounds in 19.7 minutes per game in his first taste of NBA action this season. Drummond was previously named a member of the 2013 Rising Stars Challenge for NBA All-Star weekend but this news obviously puts a damper on his visit to Houston.
