Paul Pierce has a pinched nerve in his neck, will play through it
Paul Pierce revealed he’s been playing through a pinched nerve in his neck and doesn’t expect he will recover from it until the season is over, if ever.

“I probably won’t recover from it until the season’s over, if I ever do,” Pierce said before today’s practice. “I’ve probably got a little of it down my back and part of my leg. It’s something I’ve had over the last couple of months. I’m as healthy as I’m going to be for the rest of the season. I really don’t try to pay attention to it during the game.”
Pierce then said he doesn’t let injuries affect him, but went on to say that the nerve damage could be part of the reason he’s been “up and down a lot”, via Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald:
I don’t let injures affect me, but it’s probably been a reason I’ve been up and down a lot. Sometimes I get a sharp pain, and sometimes I’ve had the stinger go through the same part of my neck
Pierce is averaging 18.5 points per game on 41.9 percent shooting from the field and 36 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Pierce is one of five Celtics to play in all 57 games of the regular season thus far.
The Celtics have been battling injuries throughout the season, most notably Rajon Rondo missing the remainder of the season with a partially torn ACL. A pinched nerve shouldn't cause Pierce to miss any time on the court, which he also acknowledged when admitting he's as healthy as he can be going forward.
