Hawks vs. Heat final score: Miami cruises to 19th straight win, 98-81

Miami dominated the first half of action, then went on cruise control to defeat a strong Atlanta Hawks squad to keep their winning streak alive.

The Miami Heat set the tone early and never trailed as they defeated the Atlanta Hawks, 98-81, on Tuesday night at American Airlines Arena.

Dwyane Wade led the way for the Heat (48-14) with 23 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the field and added six assists, four rebounds and five steals to spark the defense. LeBron James was quiet with 15 points on 3-of-11 shooting.

The Hawks (34-29) got a solid effort from Josh Smith, who finished with 15 points, six rebounds and two assists. Turnovers were the story for Atlanta as they had 24 giveaways. Miami, however didn't capitalize on them as much as they could have by scoring only 10 fast-break points.

Atlanta had 28 fast-break points of their own, but could not overcome a difficult shooting night that saw them shoot 42.3 percent from the field, but just 22.7 percent from the three-point line.

Miami is 4-0 against the Hawks this season.
