An elbow injury will sideline Raptors big man Andrea Bargnani for the remainder of the season.

Already in the midst of arguably the worst season of his career, Bargnani simply hasn't been able to catch a break recently. After battling a different elbow injury earlier this season while being bandied about in trade rumors, he'll now be sidelined for the rest of the season with his current ailment.
According to one source, an avulsion fracture, “occurs at the point where a tendon or ligament attaches to a bone. A force on the tendon or ligament causes a piece of bone to be pulled away.” In other words, one of the ligaments in Bargnani’s elbow has attached to a bone, then tore away a piece of the bone during some substantial action.
Considering how frequently he was included in rumors over the past few months, it wouldn’t be surprising if Bargnani has played his final game with Toronto. The former top pick is owed $10.75 million for next season, plus he holds a $11.5 million player option for the 2014-15 season that’s all but sure to be exercised.
