The Knicks were outscored, 33-16, in the second quarter as Denver took a 62-40 lead into halftime. The loss of Chandler would certainly be a devastating blow for the Knicks, who are currently third in the Eastern Conference standings.
Chandler has served as the defensive interior backbone of the Knicks since signing with New York before last season. The veteran big man is averaging 10.8 points, 11.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game for the Knicks this season.
The Knicks have already been devastated by injuries in the frontcourt. Rasheed Wallace is out for the season with a foot injury and Amar'e Stoudemire is also unlikely to play again this season thanks to a knee injury.
