The NBA has announced that a foul should've been called on Atlanta Hawks guard Dahntay Jones at the end of the Hawks-Los Angeles Lakers game Wednesday night. According to the league, the play where Bryant landed on Jones' foot causing him to sprain his ankle, should have been a two shot foul.

The NBA announced that Dahntay Jones should have been called for a foul on the play where Kobe Bryant injured his ankle, but did not suspend or fine the Hawks forward.

The league also announced there would be no fines or suspensions as a result of the play or either player’s post game comments. Following the game, Bryant told Time Warner Cable Sportsnet that he feels officials need to protect shooters when they’re in the air and called Jones stepping underneath him a “dangerous play.”
Bryant again called it a dangerous play on Twitter. Meanwhile, Jones also took to social media, saying he didn’t have any intention to injure Bryant and also said Bryant committed a foul by kicking out his legs on the shot. The Lakers said Bryant is out indefinitely with the sprain.
