Lakers vs. Suns final score: Phoenix destroys LA with 4th quarter barrage, 99-76

The Lakers didn’t have any legs left as their seven-man rotation couldn’t keep up with the Suns on the road.

The Phoenix Suns took advantage of the Los Angeles Lakers’ tired legs and defeated them handily, 99-76, on Monday night at U.S. Airways Center.

Luis Scola had 13 points, all of which came in the fourth quarter, and he added seven rebounds for the Suns. Wesley Johnson had a team-high 14 points on 6-of-17 from the field.

The Lakers (36-33) couldn't get any stops late, and the Suns opened things up in the fourth quarter, winning the final frame by a margin of 28-10.

L.A. shot just 33.3 percent from the field and an abysmal 5-for-22 from the three-point line in the loss, their second straight in Phoenix this season.

Phoenix (23-45) shot an outstanding 48.3 percent from the field, while forcing 18 turnovers on the defensive end and scoring 18 fast-break points off the Lakers' giveaways.

Steve Nash finished with a game-high 19 points on 6-of-17 from the field, and he made 1-of-2 from beyond the arc. Dwight Howard added 16 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.

LA was without star Kobe Bryant, who missed his second-straight game with a severely-sprained ankle. The Suns scored 52 bench points to help put the Lakers away.
