Kendall Gill, Tim Doyle involved in Chicago media fight

The former NBA player and a fellow network analyst resorted to blows when they disagreed on a controversial play from Monday night’s Bulls game.

Former NBA player and current Chicago Bulls analyst Kendall Gill got into an altercation with Big Ten hoops analyst Tim Doyle, and it didn't end well for either individual on Tuesday night.

The news has the whole Chicagoland area buzzing for good reason. Gill took exception to Doyle’s criticism of his analysis of a controversial play that resulted in a Bulls loss..

The play in question that sparked the heated debate happened when Bulls center Joakim Noah appeared to tip in a shot attempt that would have given the Bulls a last-second win against Denver. Instead, it was called basket interference and the Bulls lost the close game.

Doyle and Gill exchanged heated words in the newsroom at Comcast SportsNet Chicago before a physical altercation ensued. The result of the fight, which resulted in blood being drawn, was Gill being dismissed indefinitely from the network's telecasts pending an investigation.

“We’ll have to let everything play out,” Gill said to the Chicago Tribune.

Doyle couldn’t be reached, and CSN Chicago employees were advised to refrain from commenting on the matter.

That didn’t stop some notable personalities from weighing in on the situation:

Stay tuned. This figures to get more interesting as it plays out.
