Hawks vs. Pacers final score: Indy survives dismal 4th quarter to hang on, 100-94

The Pacers seemingly had it on cruise control in Indiana on Monday night, but everything quickly went wrong and the Hawks made it interesting.

Six Indiana Pacers players scored in double figures, and it took a total team effort to overcome a poor showing in the fourth quarter to survive and beat the Atlanta Hawks at home, 100-94, Monday Night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The Pacers (44-27) shot a paltry 25 percent from the field in the final frame coupled with just 28.6 percent from the three-point line. They committed an astounding 10 turnovers and gave up 31 points to the Hawks (39-32) in the quarter. Indiana entered the fourth with a 22-point lead it nearly relinquished.

Roy Hibbert played big inside and finished with 17 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field and grabbed 13 rebounds to notch a double-double. Gerald Green had a team-high 19 points on an efficient 6-of-10 shooting and 2-of-4 from the three-point line.

Josh Smith scored 20 points to lead all scorers and added four assists, three rebounds, four steals and two blocked shots to fill up the stat sheet for the Hawks. All 31 of Atlanta’s fourth-quarter points came from the second unit, which finished with 48 points overall.

The Pacers committed 20 turnovers overall, resulting in 18 points for the Hawks on the other end.
