The Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t get stops, and it cost them a critical game they had to have as the Golden State Warriors prevailed, 109-103, on Monday night at Oracle Arena.

Golden State (41-31) shot 47.8 percent from the field and 43.5 percent from the three-point line to exploit the Lakers' slow rotations on defense. They trailed briefly in the first quarter before taking the lead for good after outscoring L.A. 28-16 in the first 12 minutes.
Things didn't get any better for the Lakers (36-35) as they gave up 35 and 31 points in the second and third quarters to dig themselves into a deep hole. L.A. won the battle of the boards, but the Warriors controlled the paint by outscoring the Lakers, 40-38.
Klay Thompson had a strong game for the Warriors with 22 points on 8-of-18 shooting, and their dynamic backcourt set the tone early as Stephen Curry added 25 points to lead the squad and added 10 assists. Jarret Jack added 19 points off the bench, and David Lee collected yet another double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds.
Kobe Bryant had a game-high 36 points for Los Angeles in the losing effort, while Steve Nash added 21 points and nine assists. The Lakers managed just 39.6 percent from the field on 36-of-91 shooting, including going just 6-for-26 from the three-point line.
